How does this work?
- Students sign up using the registration form.
- You pay the registration fee.
- You will receive a confirmation e-mail and we will contact you for an interview.
- During the introductory meeting we will look if you meet the requirements to be an OppasStudent.
- After the introductory meeting, we will present you with some permanent babysitting opportunities via an e-mail. You can decide which opportunities fit the best.
- We will then email the parents a brief description of you, before they agree to a meeting.
- When agreement is received of the parents, they will receive your contact information and plan for a meeting between the both of you where further details can be discussed. If during this meeting it turns out that a match was not made we will look for another babysitting opportunity free of charge.

Babysitter Rate
| Daytime (till 20.00) | minimum of €8,-/hour |
| Nighttime (from 20.00) | minimum of €6,-/hour |
| Two hours per day or less | minimum of €10,-/hour |
* Students get paid in cash by the parents on the same day of the sitting, unless otherwise agreed upon.
* In some cases we suggest a higer rate for the babysitter, for example when the family lives outside of the Amsterdam bypass or it’s about very early in the morning.
For who?
Our students all follow college- or university educations and live in Amsterdam or Utrecht or its surroundings. If you go through our services we will associate you with one or more permanent families and also you will form part of our babysitting network. This means that you can also serve as a temporary replacement for families whose permanent babysitter is unavailable at the time. Babysitting experience, a strong sense of responsibility, initiative, understanding, a flexible attitude and creativity is what we look for in an OppasStudent. Because of that we hold an introductory meeting with all our students.
Why OppasStudent?
- Babysitting pays well. During daytime you receive a minimum of €8,- per hour and at nighttime €6,- per hour.
- Babysitting is fun. Who doesn’t want to get paid to play soccer, do arts and crafts, go swimming, a trip to Artis or bake cookies?
- Babysitting is relaxed. When the children are asleep you have time to take out your books and study while getting paid (or look at TV, go on the Internet, read a book…). Besides most of the time there’s always a delicious (free!) meal waiting for you.
- Babysitting is educational. Not only for the kids who you can teach a lot, but also for yourself.
Network
All our students form one single network that parents can use if their permanent babysitter is unavailable. Once your registration is final we will add you to our network service mailing list. Whenever parents have an occasional babysitting request they need, we will email this request to our mailing list. The student that replies first and is adequate for this babysitting task will be chosen.
